Greensboro Mayor Calls For Teen Curfew

Rather than deal with the issues of poverty and a complete lack of downtown community centers in what is now known to be a majority poor and African-American neighborhood, Mayor Robbie Perkins is calling for an emergency meeting of the Greensboro City Council to discuss a Downtown teen curfew.

My advice: if you don't want the NAACP, Southern Poverty Law Center and a bunch of other groups dragging the City of Greensboro, North Carolina into court the discussion will change from curfews to meaningful activities for teenagers living near Downtown.

Remember: you have provided them with none of the amenities of our suburban neighborhoods and you'll not sweep this one under the table again this year. On that you have my word.

Those downtown basketball courts in place of a performing arts center are looking better by the minute.
