It ain't nothing new, Greensboro and it's not restricted to Greensboro or to blacks. Here's whites and Hispanics rioting in Huntington Beach, California. Why? I don't know but I'm betting I'm safe in saying like Greensboro, the issues were long known by local leaders and deliberately never addressed as long as the elites continued to turn big profits.
The rise of the Tea Party and Occupy should have been an awakening to local leaders everywhere that the status quo could no longer do business as usual but no, the status quo remains blind even today. You screwed yourself, curfews won't fix it, deal with it.
