GPAC Pledges PIRT 2725

George Hartzman asked the City of Greensboro to make public the "...details of all gpac pledges, including the time horizons for each pledge over how many years, and if any strings are attached."
The following was the City's reply earlier today:

"Hello Mr. Hartzman:
The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro has been leading an effort to raise private donations toward a downtown performing arts center and has periodically announced major contributions. They have also publicly said that the total and the list of donors will be announced at the campaign’s conclusion, which could come in a few weeks. Questions regarding details of their fundraising efforts should be directed to the foundation.
Sincerely,
Public Information Desk"

Ever wonder why the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro was tasked with this project in the first place? The answer: so the City of Greensboro could avoid answering to the public. Don't believe me? Contact Walker Sanders and the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and ask them the same questions George Hartzman asked the city.

And please, forward their answer to RecycleBill@gmail.com so I can post it on line.
