I'm all for private enterprise but when private monopolies or near monopolies REFUSE to provide the services required to grow the economy then it is time for government to take control away from said monopolies.
I'm all for private enterprise but when private monopolies or near monopolies REFUSE to provide environmental protections necessary to protect the environment and the economic wealth generated by said environment then it is time for government to take control away from said monopolies.
I'm all for private enterprise but when private monopolies or near monopolies REFUSE to provide the social protections necessary so that everyone has equal opportunity and equal rights at the work place then it is time for government to take control away from said monopolies.
If corporations are to be recognized as people the the Bill of Rights needs to be amended to reflect that corporate rights to generate profits end when they interfere with the public's right to grow the economy, maintain a healthy environment and provide a healthy social structure.
Of note, I used the term, REFUSE and not UNABLE. If these corporations are indeed UNABLE to do these things then it is government's job to assist them so that our economy, environment and social health will prosper. As it stands neither government nor private monopolies and near monopolies had held up their end of the bargain.
