"Key downtown property owners [who have received a great deal of Greensboro taxpayer money] back DGI for contract" [for their lobbyist, Zack Matheny]

"...In a letter to City Manager Jim Westmoreland on Saturday, the owners say DGI should get the $600,000 contract, which includes managing the additional tax money downtown property owners pay.

The business owners are: Roy Carroll, owner of the Center Pointe high-rise and developer of the $50 million Bellemeade Village.

Roy, HB2 supporter, who contributed to most/all of City Council
via the Triad Good Government PAC

George House, an investor in Elm Street Center.

Fec; "Elected officials like Jamal Fox, who is an adjunct law professor, are mere sheep before slavering wolves of hungry and desperate developers.  Providing these pols with a sufficient income removes the necessity to resort to corruption.

...It would be just swell if Greensboro was brimming with captains of industry, upon whom we could rely for guidance, but it ain’t.  Mostly, we’re down to con artists and fools."

The Zack Methany Texts

http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2016/02/the-zack-methany-texts.html

The City's mayor and key council members
are assigned talking points from Roy, John, Jim Melvin and others
who aim to extract economic rents from taxpayers
via City management.

Pay to Play; Revolution Mill Business Development Manager Nick Piornack's unreported Jamal Fox Campaign Contribution

Andy Zimmerman's Jamal Fox contribution;

A great example is Wilbur Ross' International Textile Group's years of free methane
from the White Street Landfill,
hoisted on taxpayers by former council member Don Vaughan, who profited from the deal
with the governmental/regulatory defense of Mayor Nancy Vaughan
as a city council member on the Solid Waste Task-force
which has been written about on blogs over and over
without rebuttal from the Vaughan's or City Staff or our local compromised press.

City Council Give Away; June 16, 2015;
$188,280.87 of water and sewer for Roy Carroll
hidden in item 9 of the consent agenda for Greensboro's City Council meeting

George Hartzman's words addressing the issue on June 16, 2015;

What's happening Along Lindsay Street and Eugene Street?

$188,280.87 to Upgrade an Existing Undersized Storm Sewer and Water Line, where a developer that has received City approval to construct Bellemeade Village.  Who is going to own Bellemeade Village?  Isn't it Roy Carroll?

Any City Council members who have not received campaign cash from Roy Carroll or the Roy Carroll funded Triad Good Government PAC, please raise your hands.

This is the height of political stupidity.

A few years back, Mr. Carroll received a benefit like this for the property he sold to American Express, who had just fired 1,600 Greensboro based employees.

The city spent more than two million dollars to get the sewer line installed under I-40 for Roy Carroll's AMEX backup data center project, which was just as underhanded and transparency lacking as this deal, buried in the consent agenda.

If anyone feels like Greensboro taxpayers have been misled on this item, don't raise your hands?

I believe those who feel that way are correct.

This is crooked and shameful.

We just gave Roy a million dollars worth of prime downtown street, and now he wants the city to upgrade his water and sewer at everyone else's expense, hidden in a consent agenda by Carroll stool pigeons and bought and paid for Council Members.

Congratulations Roy Carroll, Tuggle Duggins's Mike Fox and John Hammer.

Has anyone seen the Rhino Times' circulation audit? About 16% of the Rhino's ads are taxpayer funded.
