Updated; News and Record Editorial Board's Allen Johnson and Doug Clark on Zack Matheny; "he may be the right person at the right time"

Matheny didn't end public comment
and/or Council deliberations and votes
on his announcement of going after a position Zack helped create
by conspiring to get rid of Jason Cannon
and killing Cyndy Hayworth's chance at the job
by leaking information about her education credentials to the press
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

"It had been a foregone conclusion that Greensboro City Councilman Zack Matheny would become the next president and CEO of Downtown Greensboro Inc.

...Not long ago, Matheny insisted he could remain on the council and head DGI. It’s good to see he knows better than that now. A clean break was the only way.

Whomever wins Zack Matheny's seat
and runs for office in the fall
will have to live with the stain of these events
and the ineptitude and cronyism of our local paper of record,
fellow City Council members and corrupt City managers
for the rest of their political career.

...some people believe that Matheny has used his council seat to curry favor for the DGI job. A fellow council member, Mike Barber, was accused by DGI’s COO, Cyndy Hayworth, of pressuring DGI to hire Matheny or lose city funding.

Interim DGI CEO Cyndy Hayworth
publicly accused City Council member Mike Barber of extortion
over the job for Zack,
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

...Matheny has had little patience for his critics in the past and could become apoplectic over something a long-shot challenger for his seat might say.

Greensboro's Allen Johnson and Doug Clark

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan
unsuccessfully attempted to appoint John Lomax,
a Matheny business partner and campaign contributor/crony
to DGI's board before the meeting on hiring Matheny
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan,
has received campaign contributions
from Tuggle Duggins attorneys representing Zack
and Roy Carroll via the Triad Good Government PAC
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

Zack Matheny voted for Tuggle Duggins' client's projects
and has now enlisted the same firm
to represent Zack's own interests for an unknown sum of money,
which may have been heavily discounted,
considering Matheny has done such a good job giving everyone else's money
to Tuggle Duggins' clients, which includes Roy Carroll
who intends to own the new CEO
of taxpayer funded DGI in a few days
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

"District 3 contender Tom Phillips dating Zack Matheny's mother

The fact that Phillips is dating Geneal Matheny doesn’t negate his experience on council or his familiarity with District 3 and its people, Zack Matheny said.

If Tuggle Duggins's Mike Fox is representing Zack Matheny,
in negotiations with Greensboro taxpayer funded DGI,
and is also representing others with claims against the City
at the same time, which Zack involved himself with,
as one of the contenders his seat
is Matheney's mom boyfriend
how are Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it?

...But since the plan is to pick his replacement at the Tuesday city council meeting, Matheny said he does have some concerns about a potential conflict of interest that contender Justin Outling holds."

Evidence of Zack
lying to the City of Greensboro's legal department;

"date: Thu, Jun 11, 2015 at 2:20 PM

Dear Mr. Hartzman,

Thank you for your public records request (4607).

You requested, “all communications regarding city or DGI business from Zack Matheny's personal email and phone text message accounts for the last 90 days.”

There were no text messages responsive to this request.

Sincerely,

Katherine Carter, Public Records Administrator
Communications and Marketing Department - 336-373-3282
City of Greensboro"

Zack Matheny, a sitting Greensboro City Councilman,
an elected official who voted to fund DGI,
placed himself in a position where his future employment
became dependent on taxpayer money
and permission from his colleagues
who stand to gain by removing him from Trudy's District 4.

"Matheny sent a series of malevolent text messages
to one of the speakers, implying that he saw no reason
to ever support the citizen's projects again,
and that the two would henceforth be at odds
due to the property owner deciding to speak out against DGI.

I believe Allen Johnson and Doug Clark
should be ashamed of themselves

In the text messages
Matheny directly stated that the criticism
jeopardized his potential employment with DGI."

Marykay Abuzuaiter, Nancy Hoffmann and Mike Barber
live in what will appear to be a new District 4
which overlays Greensboro's current District 3.

A pecuniary interest exists in power through votes
affecting Zack's seat via a taxpayer funded salary,
which Abuzuaiter, Hoffmann and Barber
are most likely going to compete for.

"pecuniary interest" is an interest that a person has in a matter
because of a reasonable likelihood or expectation
of appreciable financial gain or loss to the person
or another person with whom the person is associated"

Michael Picarelli intends to run for council in the fall."

Justin Outling has already filed initial paperwork to run."

Abuzuaiter, Hoffmann and Barber are going to vote
to replace Zack Matheny and the budget vote to fund DGI,
potentially ridding themselves of a contender
for a job they would also apply for, as Hoffmann already has
and Allen Johnson and Doug Clark are okay with it.

If anyone gets a leg up by getting appointed
and then winning the election
with the help of their fellow council members and the press
via higher name recognition, they didn't really win.

They will have participated in a theft
on the coat tails of the most crooked politicians in Greensboro's history
who screwed about 2,800 City employees out of about $500,000 per year.
