Guess who Mike Barber works for?

http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2015/11/guess-who-mike-barber-works-for.html

Mike Barber has a conflict of interest in  votes involving Jim Melvin's interests,
and should not vote on any item involving Justin Outling,
as Justin is on the board of SynerG
funded by Jim Melvin's Bryan Foundation,
which if pissed off by Mike Barber voting for someone else
could jeopardize Mike's First Tee funding provided through the City of Greensboro
and Jim Melvin's Bryan Foundation.

"Mayor and Council:

...What must be considered is if a conflict of interest exists either under N.C.G.S. §§160A-75 or 14-234, or the City of Greensboro’s Charter, or the City’s Conflict of Interest Policy.

Mike Barber makes money from access to City property
via First Tee of the Triad at City's Gillespie golf course
and Bryan Park, both funded by Jim Melvin's Bryan Foundation
which also funds Justin's SynerG through Action Greensboro.

...Direct or indirect benefits are considered under the City’s conflict of interest policy and typically involve financial interests for the Councilmember, his or her immediate family, their partner, or an organization which employs or is about to employ the member, family member or partner...

"Score a win for Greensboro blogger George Hartzman, whose Socratic tirades in front of city council can sometimes come across as hyperbolic. Hartzman vocally questioned whether Mayor Robbie Perkins should be voting on an economic incentives payout to a Park View Development, the business entity for Center Point — for which Perkins serves as a listing agent in his role as a commercial real estate broker... [for Roy Carroll]

Interim City Attorney Jamiah Waterman ruled that Perkins had no conflict of interest.

Three days later Waterman was eating his opinion: “Upon further review, it can reasonably be argued that Mayor Perkins was subjected to a potential financial detriment, e.g. the potential loss of his real estate listings with Park View Development LLC.

As Jim Melvin could cause
a potential financial detriment to Mike Barber's First Tee of the Triad,
e.g. the potential loss of Bryan Foundation financial support
Mr. Barber needs to recuse himself from the Zack replacement vote.

As such, I am revising my prior opinion to reflect that Mayor Perkins appears to have an impermissible conflict of interest in this matter.

...[Robbie] Perkins admitted he is the leasing agent for the first floor of Center Pointe, and if a stricter ordinance would arguably benefit Center Pointe financially, Perkins stands to gain.

Interim City Attorney Jamiah Waterman said last week that Perkins should recuse himself from a vote involving Carroll.

Mike Barber lobbied for Matheny's DGI job

Greensboro’s Ethics Code says
that if there is an actual or possible financial interest,
a Council Member is supposed to publicly disclose the interest,
and the remaining Council members
are supposed to decide if a conflict of interest exists,
which should happen in the case of Mike Barber etc...
and the vote to replace Zack Matheny.

Mike Barber is a known liar.

More than two local media sources
have confirmed Mike Barber has a habit
of lying.

The partisan,
when engaged in a dispute,
cares nothing about the rights of the question,
but is anxious only to convince his hearers of his own assertions.

Mike Barber just abused his position as a council member

positioned to compete for the same council spot

Mike Barber had a conflict of interest

and should not have voted on Jim Melvin's Megasite project,

Bryan Foundation board member Robert E. Long, Jr.

who may also be involved with influencing Barber's vote
while angling to get $22.5 million from the City of Greensboro

DGI is in very in bed with the Bryan Foundation's Jim Melvin and Ed Kitchen;

"Downtown Greensboro Incorporated (DGI) will host Downtown business owners, residents, workers and Downtown stakeholders...

Attendees will also acknowledge excellence in Downtown ambassadorship as DGI Board Chairman Betty Cone presents the Jim Roach Downtown Person of the Year Award.  Past recipients include: ...Roy Carroll, Betty Cone; John Lomax and Joseph M. Bryan Foundation President Jim Melvin.

It appears that Mike Barber pressured Cyndy Hayworth
for the benefit of the Bryan Foundation
which provides Barber's First Tee of the Triad
financial assistance.

DGI will also present the J. Edward Kitchen Leadership Award. Previous winners include former City Manager and current Vice President of the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation, Ed Kitchen."

and Jim Melvin's Megasite project.
