North Carolina and Greensboro's leadership and sold-out press have made a joke of our community and state. They perverted and rotted our economy from within. Our elected leaders have lined their donors' pockets in exchange for campaign donations and signs on commercial properties and billboards.
These 'leaders' and their financial backers have ignored the travails of the average income citizen. We want good paying jobs back, as Roy Carroll, Marty Kotis and the Koury's among others at the top of our local food chain effectively opposed living wages and basic worker rights via purchased state legislators and crooked, crony backed legislation. Think about how much more money Marty and friends can make by more easily firing newly pregnant restaurant servers and hotel house keepers. Just on insurance premiums, these fine folks living off the rest of us who hire and pay low wages to those, who if they say anything about it are immediately fired without any governmental intervention. Many used to call it slavery. Now it's the same thing, without the stigma as it has become something of a national pastime for the 1%.
If 'we' are dumb enough to believe
with the help of Marty Kotis, Roy Carroll, and Koury Corporation
are paying to tell us to believe
which is what the bible thumping morons on the local far right
are are saying they believe, in direct contradiction to basic rationality,
there is seriously something very wrong with our local society
and our local political and economic establishment are in on it.

or eating at his restaurants because they are gay or trans
by not asking for his money back from those in North Carolina's legislature
who have lost thousands of jobs for our state
I wonder is all the City Council members in Greensboro
are going to give Marty the money he purchased them with back
because he favors discriminatory legislation
Marty only extracts rent from most of the restaurants on his properties, which the News and Record's Allen Johnson doesn't seem to understand. But Allen doesn't understand basic economics, so that's what we have for an 'opinion leader'.
More like a cheerleader of the uneducated variety whom everyone likes to look at anyway.
Doug Clark and Allen Johnson didn't understand or foresee what happened last time the economy tanked, and their jobs are to not know or report as we decline once again.
They, along with the Triad Business Journal, are just cheerleaders for the 1%.
