How Greensboro's News and Record tries to effect the outcomes of elections; Congressional Candidate Kathy Manning edition

“It’s been in our pipeline,” said Mitul Patel, a company partner. “We have other projects we’ve been working on.”

The Patel's are paying for their own 150 space parking deck,
in which not one patron of the performing arts center will ever park in,
according to Kathy Manning, Walker Sanders Matt Brown and Greensboro's City Council,
as if anyone attending the STPAC doesn't park in the VIP parking at $20 per space,
or a City owned parking deck at $5 a space,
the math used to justify the financing for the center is a fraud

The Hampton Inn is one of a trio of new hotels planned for a downtown that hasn’t seen a new hotel in decades.

Developer Roy Carroll will likely open a business-traveler oriented Hyatt Place on North Eugene Street by the end of the year as part of his $70 million Carroll at Bellemeade apartment project.

The city of Greensboro is in the process of building a [$30 million taxpayer funded] parking deck at the corner of Davie Street and February One Place that will serve as the base for a 10-story upscale Westin Hotel to be built by another development group."

Otherwise known as Congressional Candidate Kathy Manning's husband Randall Kaplan,
as they profit from a taxpayer funded boondoggle thanks to Greensboro's City Council,
after Kathy was complicit in lying to Greensboro's taxpayers
as to how the performing arts center is to be paid for

https://www.greensboro.com/business/local_business/local-hotel-builder-plans-downtown-hampton-inn-suites/article_ab913891-21a0-5b67-bdef-aa78237b5246.html

The News and Record's Richard Barron wrote an article
misleading our community as to a candidate for an upcoming election
is going to profit from a taxpayer funded parking deck
and a performing arts center whose financing is bogus,
and Publisher/Editor Daniel Finnegan; (336) 373-7300
and Triad Executive Editorial Page Editor Allen Johnson; (336) 373-7010
don't seem to mind at all, as the News and Record real estate is under contract
with Greg Dillon, one of Randall Kaplan's partners in the hotel.

300 more seats than DPAC
with an average household income
of $20,000 less in the Greensboro metropolitan area.

If an STPAC patron were to drive down Elm Street at 10pm after a show,
it's not going to be what most white folks would consider to be a safe feeling scene.

Kathy, Randall and Roy Carroll are building a performing arts center for profit,
very near the poorest part of Greensboro,
with no natural barrier or otherwise keeping out those considered unsightly,
many of whom are within walking distance,
by the upper crust who just enjoyed an opera who are supposedly going to pay
$20 a piece for 330 parking spots 142 times per year.

Walker Sanders, Nancy Vaughan, Rick Lusk, Kathy Manning and Matt Brown
committed an act of fraud against Greensboro's taxpayers and securities investors
via fraudulent financial projections
based on unsustainable and blatantly misleading math,
and the News and Record never reported it.

There is almost no way to get in and out anywhere near as quickly as DPAC,
which is clean to the point of sterile, and has a fake river running through.

White elephant TPAC may be,
after being misled by many who stand to personally profit from the project,
like John Hammer, Roy Carroll, Randall Kaplan and Kathy Manning.

Greensboro's City Council violated their oaths of office;

...lawful oaths for discovery of truth and establishing right
are necessary and highly conducive to the important end of good government;
and being most solemn appeals to Almighty God,
as the omniscient witness of truth and the just and omnipotent avenger of falsehood,
and whereas, lawful affirmations for the discovery of truth and establishing right
are necessary and highly conducive to the important end of good government,
therefore, such oaths and affirmations ought to be taken and administered
with the utmost solemnity.

§ 11-1. Oaths and affirmations to be administered with solemnity

Discovery of truth on TPAC didn't happen, and if it did, voting for the measures was a violation of the City of Greensboro oath of office and an unfaithful act, and the News and Record didn't report it.

Greensboro's City Council violated their oaths of office, based on a willful, premeditated fraud on the City's taxpayers, and the News and Record didn't report it.

"An oath of office is an oath or affirmation a person takes before undertaking the duties of an office, usually a position in government or within a religious body...

Some oaths of office are a statement of loyalty to a constitution or other legal text or to a person or other office-holder

Under the laws of a state it may be considered treason or a high crime to betray a sworn oath of office."

Proof of Control Fraud by Kathy Manning, City of Greensboro's Matt Brown, CFGG's Walker Sanders and everyone else who knew and didn't say anything, especially the elected officials who voted for it

http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2018/05/proof-of-control-fraud-by-kathy-manning.html

Our community has been designed for a political and business elite
to enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else

Much of the population endures economic frustrations
as the connected prosper upon the many

Poverty grew in Greensboro by 85% between 2000 and 2016,
under the watchful eyes of our elected leaders
and the oligarchs who own their decision making

Could many who believe Greensboro's government
should pledge their children’s future income
to prevent the failure of local businesses like Kathy Manning and Randall Kaplan's
be indirectly advocating a political system other than capitalistic democracy?

Matt Brown, Kathy Manning and Walker Sanders betrayed our community

http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2018/07/matt-brown-kathy-manning-and-walker.html

How should Greensboro's residents respond if the City's economic and political leadership
rigged the local economy for themselves and their benefactors
with the help of a compliant press?

The math in Matt Brown's email and what was presented to the public on STPAC is the same

Socioeconomic disharmonies will likely increase.

They’re insulated from many of the effects of their decisions.

Current Greensboro City Council Members and Candidates for local elected office, should be prohibited from accepting campaign contributions from board members of organizations, developers, contractors or their lawyers or agents who have or may receive taxpayer funded contracts or monies, for 12 months before and after doing business with Greensboro’s government.

EzGreensboro.com, Guts Enough To Tell It Like It Is

On April 21, 2017, in a story titled Illegal Gambling In Greensboro? we told you about Fish Tables. And while we weren't the first to write about them we were the first to tell you that fish tables are illegal in North Carolina.

We even went so far as to tell you who operates some of those illegal fish tables and their ties to the Greensboro City Council:

"Perhaps you remember when those same nice Pakistani merchants sold the Greensboro Inn to the City of Greensboro to make room for the performing arts center or when the Greensboro City Council voted to give them the shopping center on the corner of Phillips and Elwell, free of charge plus give them $2 Million Dollars to fix it up?"

Well today, Fox8 reported, Greensboro police issuing warnings to ‘fish game’ operators:

"Representatives from the Greensboro Police Department are hand-delivering letters to 37 businesses known to have such machines and providing them 30 days to voluntarily comply with the law by ceasing operation of the machines, the release said. After the grace period, owners must comply with the “cease operation” edict or face criminal action. Devices used for fish games may be seized until the matter is heard by the court and may be forfeited if found guilty of the offense."

The article goes on to say the reason these business owners are being warned instead of being charged is that they are not the criminal type. These are the same guys who sell wine and beer for food stamps.

Update: June 13, 2017 WFMY 2 reports in Game Over: Police Cracking Down On 'Fish Table Games' in Greensboro:

“Greensboro’s seen a pattern of violent crime that's been associated with these businesses,” explained Guilford County Sheriff’s Attorney Rick Stevens.

Even though it’s GPD’s crackdown, High Point Police and the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office will be on the lookout for anyone moving a fish game business outside of Greensboro city limits.

“If any vender out there thinks they're going to be closed down by GPD and move their game out into Guilford County, the answer is – that's the wrong answer, because we will shut you down immediately, and we won't give you 30 days written notice to comply,” said Sheriff’s Attorney Jim Secor.

They say operating these machines is illegal -- no matter how much skill is involved, and it's more about making money than for entertainment."

So why is it that no Fish Games ever opened in High Point or Guilford County? Could it be ties to the Greensboro City Council by the Fish House owners?

Considering this same Greensboro City Council once gave these same people a City owned shopping center plus a Million dollars cash with no obligation to pay it back, I think we know the answer.

Illegal Gambling In Greensboro? With Updates.

Ever heard of Fish Tables? They're an arcade game designed primarily for gambling and no less than 3, perhaps more, have opened up right here in East Greensboro. Vice.com has a very detailed article on their history titled, Why Cops Are Raiding Arcades Over A Fishing Game.

One is located at a property I'm sure you'll remember. It's the same property on Martin Luther King Drive when employees working for Rocky Scarfone bleached the parking lot and altered video tape in an attempt cover up a shooting at Mr Scarfone's club there.

Another is located on East Bessemer Avenue.

And the third that I'm aware of is located in the so called, "grocery store" on Phillips Avenue at Lombardy Street. You know, the grocery store owned by those nice Pakistani merchants who own Kim's on Phillips Avenue and dozens of other convenience stores, hotels and motels throughout the Piedmont Triad.

Perhaps you remember when those same nice Pakistani merchants sold the Greensboro Inn to the City of Greensboro to make room for the performing arts center or when the Greensboro City Council voted to give them the shopping center on the corner of Phillips and Elwell, free of charge plus give them $2 Million Dollars to fix it up?

Could it be that fine upstanding Greensboro business people are opening up gambling operations in the poorest parts of our city?

And could it be that the Greensboro Police Department and Guilford County Sherriff's Department are turning a blind eye because the owners are prominent local citizens?

You tell me?

Update: Just learned of another on Summit Avenue where O Henry Barbecue used to be.

Update 2: A reader sends a photo of another in the Price Place Shopping Center on West Market. Arcades were never so popular in Greensboro. By the way, who owns Club Orion?

Update 3: Two more locations, Lawndale @ Cone and Cone Blvd near Walmart. These businesses are obviously targeting poor neighborhoods.

Update 4: Again Two more locations Battleground Plaza on Battleground Ave. and the curb market on Lawndale Drive across the street right before you get to the Target Shopping Center.

Update 5: June 12, 2017 Greensboro Police take action.

Was Robbie Perkins Involved In The Scarfone Cone Denim Entertainment Center?

Google the phrase, "Burlington Industries (landlord representation for assumption and assignment of corporate office to W.L.Ross entity)(C-11)" and you'll find lots of references to none other than Greensboro attorney, Christy Myatt.

Who is Christy Myatt you ask? None other than the woman who then Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins left his wife and family for before loosing the election to Nancy Vaughan. Robbie's girlfriend.

And who is W.L. Ross? None other than Wilbur Ross, Billionaire corporate raider and owner of  International Textile Group, owners of Burlington Industries and yes, Cone Mills.

Recently I wrote an open letter to Mr Ross expressing my concerns about his company's involvement with known gangster, Rocky Scarfone. While I already had lots of bits of evidence that suggests Mayor Perkins might also be involved in this venture I now have more.

Even with all his money someone like Rocky would have a difficult time arranging corporate naming rights with someone as big as Wilbur Ross-- these deals always require middle men, silent partners and discrete introductions via people someone like Mr Ross already knows and trusts. After all, he didn't get to be worth $2.9 Billion by dealing with just anyone. And everyone in between gets a cut.

And why would Ms Myatt ever get involved in such business transactions? That is, if she did get involved. Surely she's not the type to keep company with known gangsters and smart enough to check criminal records before introducing them to a client as important as Wilbur Ross-- right? Could it be because her slick talking boyfriend talked her into it?

According to City of Greensboro documents, attorney Jeffery L Furr is a known partner in the Cone Denim Entertainment Center:

But Mr Furr's area of expertise is environmental law and his connections to the tobacco industry taint his image. Rocky Scarfone would have needed someone more like Ms Myatt to put the deal together and how better to get her than by cutting the mayor in on the deal.

Of course, until there's absolute proof we'll never know but men like Wilbur Ross aren't in the habit of doing business with male strippers who get busted on fraud charges along with the rest of the family-- are they?

"After taking Scarfone of Sunrise into custody, detectives went to a Ramada Inn in Hollywood where his parents were staying. They arrested his father, Carmine Scarfone, 52, who also was named in the indictment, police said.

Scarfone`s mother, Constance Scarfone, 48, was charged in two Dade County warrants charging fraud, police said.

Authorities in Boone, N.C., said the Scarfones operate a business there and are accused of threatening an individual. Details of the charges remain sketchy.

``We`re expecting more arrests in the near future, so I don`t want to say too much about it right now,`` Boone Police Detective Bob Kennedy said."
 Are they?

And the big question is: Was Robbie Perkins still Mayor of Greensboro while this deal was being put together and did he use his influence as mayor to help put the deal together for his own personal gain?

The Big Heritage House Cover-Up

We saw the same tactics some years back when the City of Greensboro decided to abandon War Memorial Stadium. First they promised to save the historic structure then they told us of structural problems that were said to be hopelessly beyond repair or simply too expensive. Over 10 years later the historic building where the movie the Durham Bulls was filmed remains empty.

In today's Planning Board meeting to determine the status of Heritage House, City Staff trotted out a visual inspection done by SKA Consulting Engineers Inc on July 10, 2014 that claim the building to have structural problems. Were Heritage House Property owners made aware that 3rd party inspectors were being allowed on their property by the City of Greensboro? The City of Greensboro Code Enforcement inspections took place in June. Heritage House Residents were forced to leave at the end of July. These engineers for SKA Consulting, if they did in-fact inspect Heritage House, were trespassing and the City of Greensboro was aiding and abetting.

So which is it, were they trespassing or is the SKA inspection a fraud? Remember: there was no mention of the cost of any engineering study when the City released the City's costs incurred due to Heritage House-- does SKA work for free?

But wait, it gets even better. We now have proof that Heritage House is in-fact a land grab years in the making.

From the City of Greensboro and Guilford County Consolidated Plan 2010-2014 For A More Resilient Community : Adopted August 2, 2010: Page 119, The City of Greensboro predicts the future:

"Need for more units available for those who have background issues. Heritage House Condos is an example of a private low cost facility. The Home Owners Association there may not be viable, and this model may not be replicable."

And from that very same page in a City that is literally flooded with available water:

"Over the past 3 years, water cutoffs have increased by 30%, according to Water Resources."

Make no doubt with a little bit of self-fulfilling prophecy added to a lack of law enforcement, no checks and balances, one of the 2 property management companies owned by a known crook, the other property management company owned in part by a former state senator who is married to our current mayor and the City helping to fabricate an inflated water bill it was no problem to make their dreams come true.

Now we're simply waiting for the City of Greensboro to exercise eminent domain so Skip Alston can broker the deal to  Shahzad Akba, Shehzad Quamar and their partner, Khan A Khan who formerly owned the Greensboro Inn downtown.

Am I getting warmer, Nancy? Of course you do realize if any of the theories I've pitched should come true it's handcuffs for you, Mike, Robbie, Skip, Zack, Yvonne and several more. Have you ever stood in front of a mirror and wondered what you might look like in a prison jump suit? Of course you have, that's why the Downtown Wyndham Hotel will never be built. It might be I can't send you to jail but I can damned sure get in the pockets of those who put you in office, isn't that right, Mayor Vaughan?

The planning board voted 8-0 to declare the property blighted-- not surprising being most have only heard one side of the story and the others are bought off. City Council will make the final decision... That is, if they dare to act after everything our team has made public and will continue to make public between now and then. Trust me, the conflicts of interest, of which we've yet to even make mention, are astounding.

And the phone calls, letters and e-mails just keep coming in.

Who Is Shree Gee, LLC And Kiran Shah

And Why Is He Still In Business In Greensboro?

Previously I told you of how the owners of Phongsavanh Market were operating an unlicensed and untaxed convenience store in the Glenwood neighborhood and how Ben Holder, after learning they were selling drugs there, was trying to get it shut down.

Yesterday the Greensboro Police Department again raided the store and today the City of Greensboro finally decided to shut it down. But why has it taken so long and why is the store's owner, Kiran Shah of 2824 Pickering Road in Greensboro still allowed to own and operate no less than 10 convenience stores in Greensboro and 1 in High Point?

Even though the State of North Carolina again dissolved as set forth in N.C.G.S. Section 57D-6-06  his company, Shree Gee, LLC  on March 4, 2014?

According to the US Chamber of Commerce someone at that address does 1/2 Million to 1 Million Dollars a year in business. And Shah Jayshree doesn't pay taxes in North Carolina either.

The proof is in the hyperlinks folks. This is organized crime. How is it that the City of Greensboro is having such a hard time closing down untaxed businesses who are running gambling operations, selling drugs and selling beer and wine for food stamps in locations all over Greensboro? Are our politicians, city officials and/or police on the take?

His full name is actually JAYSHREE KIRAN SHAH and while his 4 bedroom 2.5 bathroom Sedgefield home is valued at a modest $193,462, Kiran and his associates and partners the Kahns, Akbars, Quamars, Shuklas and  Buttars are the owners of Kahn Hospitality and owners of the Airport Clarion Hotel  on Swing Road for which they owe $50,613.22 in delinquent property taxes despite annual sales between  $1,000,000 to $4,999,999.

They previously owned the Greensboro Inn downtown and the Homestead Lodge, 115 E Carteret St.  Both properties were nuisance properties and were shut down as such.

These are the same people the Greensboro City Council attempted to give the Bessemer Shopping Center plus 2 million Dollars of your money to just last year. They are in the business of operating organized crime and unless the Greensboro City Council starts taking immediate action to rid our city of their presence immediately it will be assumed by myself and others that our City Council is in bed with these criminals.

I've been writing of them for almost 2 years as has Mr Holder and nothing has been done except to close 1 store when in-fact they operate all over Greensboro in dozens of properties they own and rent. It's time for a change.

And to add insult to injury, the owners of the story can choose to file an appeal to the City and remain open pending the appeal. My advice to the City should they appeal: schedule the hearing for the next morning...

Lies From The Wyndham Hotel Study: Part 2

Yesterday I published Lies From The Wyndham Hotel Study: Part 1. At least 4 members of the Greensboro city council are regretting the day they were born. From Page 2 of the Wyndham Hotel Feasibility Study:

"As discussed further in this letter, from our 2012 work, historically, the Greensboro market has proven its ability to absorb new hotel room supply, most notably, from 2006 to 2011 there was a 25% increase in the room supply and this was absorbed into the market resulting in higher overall market occupancy. Based upon projected unaccomodated demand, we expect this trend to continue with the new supply of rooms from both the Proposed Wyndham Hotel, Greensboro. NC and future rooms as contemplated for other projects."

But is that what really happened. Was there a 25%  increase in the room supply and was this was absorbed into the market? And was the result a higher overall market occupancy?

During that same time period the  Heritage Inn, aka Southgate was converted from a hotel to apartments then torn down. The Cavalier Inn converted to weekly rentals. The Oaks Motel closed for years then reopened as did the Regency Inn Suits. And the 132 room Knights Inn was closed for years and only recently reopened as the I-40 Inn and Suites, so recently in-fact that they still have a temporary sign out front. And those are only the few I know of. How many more closed during that time period?

No, those aren't the types of hotels and motels the downtown Wyndham hopes to compete with bu just so you know, Knights Inn is a Wyndham company. And in times of high demand or in bad economic times these cheap motels are every bit as likely to be filled as any luxury hotel. If not more so.

Oh, and the restaurant at the old Knight's Inn is available for lease. Was it ever really a Denny's? I don't think so.

Page 2 in its entirety: Click on it to view full size.

Jeff Martin calls this behavior, this lack of transparency, a racist double standard and he's right in that enforcement in Greensboro has long favored white people. After all, in how many cities in America could people gun down other people in front of television cameras watched by millions around the world and no one go to prison?

What's Up With The Community Gardens?

For quite some time now we've been hearing of plans to build community gardens off of Phillips Ave here in Northeast Greensboro and as my peas, lettuce and a few other crops are already sprouting I thought I'd ask the City of Greensboro for an update on the project. The following is the PIRT (Public Information Request) I sent them yesterday:

"What is the status of the community garden project that is to be built on Phillips Ave and Lombardy Street?
I noticed today that city surveyors were again surveying the property (3rd time) and again driving the survey stakes into the exact same places as before. I walked along behind them watching as they worked.
How much has the city spent to date on this project?
How much does the city intend to spend on this project?
Is Gayland A. Oliver still in charge of this project? (Follow the link for background on Mr Oliver: http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/search/label/Gayland%20Anthony%20Oliver )
Does Mr Oliver have any previous experience growing crops?

I ask that because it has taken me a lifetime to become proficient as a gardener and I still can't hold a candle to my mother.

Is A&T University still planning to provide $40,000 for this project?
Do you have blueprints for the project? I'd like to see them.
Has the proposed water service been installed yet?
How will water be moved across the creek that flows through the middle of the project?
The creek has flowed water 365 days a year for the last 57 years that I'm aware of-- why was the creek not considered as a water source for watering vegetables as any real farming operation would have done?
I've relied 100% on rainwater storage for the last decade to water my garden and found it produces healthier plants at considerably less expense than city water. Could the taxpayers not benefit from reducing the cost of growing vegetables? I'm all for the idea of community gardens but a poorly planned first try will ruin any chance of expanding the program.
Are toxins from Lorillard Tobacco Company where the creek originates, making the water unsafe for watering vegetables?
Has the creek been tested for water quality?
Does the City have the results of those tests?
It was my understanding that this project was to be in operation before now. I've already started planting my 2014 garden and my peas are already popping through the ground just as they do every February, when will this project be finished?
There are also concerns with what is in the ground at the site chosen. That site was at one time a rock quarry. As a matter of fact: most all of the stone and gravel used to build the original downtown Greensboro, Fisher Park, Aycock, Irving Park, College Hill and most of Greensboro's historic neighborhoods was mined there.
Like so many rock quarries, it eventually became a deep and very dangerous lake. I used to play there as a child and get a whipping every time my parents found out. Several children and adults drowned there when I was growing up. Criminals used it as a place to hide their get-away cars and guns used in crimes. Companies dumped toxic chemicals there. Construct contractors still use the property to this day to dump construction waste (C&D) that the city cleans up from time to time. Nothing was ever retrieved. As of my visit today there were several old television picture tubes (Haz-mat) on the grounds there.
Of course, depending on how the gardens are designed that isn't necessarily a problem but it needs to be kept in mind.

Previously I suggested to Denise Turner Roth that 1207 Willard St, another city owned property is available. This property is almost completely flat and already has water and sewer hookups. It can also be more easily monitored by neighbors and it is only 1 block away from the Lombardy St site. Previously there were not 1 but 3 houses on that site. Ms Roth never replied to my e-mail.
Of course the 1207 Willard St site has no creek but if properly constructed rainwater could be collected to provide most if not all of the water needs. My e-mail to her included cheap sources for materials and fencing as well. I still have it and could forward it if you like. And 1207 Willard was one part of the Pinnix family farm, and not a toxic waste dump.
Thanks -Billy"

I honestly believe that community gardens are a necessary part of our long term survival. Not everyone is as fortunate as myself to have grown up with parents who were raised on the farm and believed it imperative that children learn how to work the soil. The working class cannot afford imported food nor is it healthy. Community gardens will serve not only as a place to grow food but more importantly as a place to learn to grow food so that others can take what they learn and return home to do what my family has done on this east Greensboro lot for the last 57 years. This community garden will never be able to feed an entire neighborhood but if done right it has the potential to feed enough knowledge into the neighborhood so that the neighborhood can someday feed itself.

That's why it is imperative that we get it right the first time and not let the usual suspects destroy it before it has a chance to grow and set fruit.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got seeds to sow as I garden 12 months a year.

Update: Thursday, March 6, 2014: This morning I sent the following e-mail to Judi Mackey of Lazard who has been hired by RJ Reynolds to oversee the proposed buyout of Lorillard Tobacco. Maybe she can get answers the City of Greensboro seems slow to respond to:

"Would a merger/buyout between your customer, RJ Reynolds and Lorillard Tobacco mean that environmental concerns with the creek that originates on Lorillard's East Market St factory property in Greensboro, North Carolina,  finally be cleared up? http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2014/02/whats-up-with-community-gardens.html
Thank you -Billy Jones"

We'll see if the power of multi-billion dollar multi-nationals puts a little spring in the step of the City of Greensboro.

I'm Being Sued By Rocco Scarfone: Part 10

Most honest business men do business their entire lives without ever ending up getting in trouble with the law, getting sued or going to court even 1 time. Not so for Rocco Scarfone. The Joey Medaloni lawsuits were one of many.

How do you get rich? You don't pay your bills then you hire a two-bit lawyer to sue the guy you owe money to.

In 2004, Scarfone and others were sued by BB&T for:

"The lawsuit alleges that four separate loans were made by BB&T -- two to Greensboro Professional Sports LLC in 1999 and 2000, and two to Triad Professional Sports LLC, both in 2002. The loans ranged from $91,000 to $400,000. According to the lawsuit, as of Sept. 18, 2003, the total in principal and interest owed to BB&T was $742,234. "

The article continued:

"Then in September, the city took over all operations of the Generals, including everything from paying player salaries to selling tickets in order to keep the team as a tenant at the coliseum."

Coincidence? Or was Scarfone blackmailing Greensboro leaders to get him off the hook?

And yes, the City got sued as well. Rocco Scarfone got out and stuck the taxpayers with the bill.

Character assassination? Some may accuse me of that but there are plenty in Greensboro who are accusing Rocco and his Jersey boys of people assassination . But not me, I never saw them kill anyone yet.

Yes, the assault charge against Rocco Scarfone was dropped but that's because all the witnesses were on Rocco's payroll.

Shootings? There was the shooting at LAX Gentleman's Club (a strip joint) and the N Club were within about a month of one another.

Speaking of shootings, 5 people were shot outside Scarfone's N Club in 1 incident in October 2011. Were any of Rocky's Jersey boys involved? And who owned the other 2 clubs where shootings took place outside? Is there little doubt that Scarfone has a history of promoting violence in Greensboro?

Here's one that's good for a laugh. But it pretty much tells you the mentality of the man we're dealing with-- a man who thinks he can get away with anything and flaunt it in front of the entire world. From the Miami SunSentinel:

"It didn`t take long to track down Rocco "Rocky" Scarfone, one of the beefcake attractions with the Chippendales all-male revue. Scarfone was interviewed by The Miami Herald when he auditioned with the Chippendales at Art Stock`s Playpen South in Oakland Park. The story and a picture of him appeared on the front page of the paper`s Living Today section on Feb. 3. So after a grand jury in North Carolina indicted Scarfone, 25, on extortion charges and five counts of fraud on Thursday, detectives from the Metropolitan Organized Crime Intelligence Unit knew right where to go. "That article said we could catch his act three times a night," said an undercover detective who asked not to be identified."

And just in case you're still wondering if Rocco really is from a mob family? From the same article:

"After taking Scarfone of Sunrise into custody, detectives went to a Ramada Inn in Hollywood where his parents were staying. They arrested his father, Carmine Scarfone, 52, who also was named in the indictment, police said.

Scarfone`s mother, Constance Scarfone, 48, was charged in two Dade County warrants charging fraud, police said.

Authorities in Boone, N.C., said the Scarfones operate a business there and are accused of threatening an individual. Details of the charges remain sketchy."

That's right, his father and his mother were arrested and charged along with Rocco on multiple charges in North Carolina and Florida. Like I wrote in Rocco Scarfone Partners With Councilman Zack Matheny: Greensboro House Of Blues:

"In other words, our Rocco is and will always be a gangster."

I rest my case Mr Rossabi, you are now free to present yours. That is, if Rocco still has any balls.

Of course, Scarfone and Rossabi were hoping they could simply scare me away. They thought that when I got their letter I'd panic and do what Rocco demanded. Well guess what Rocco, this story is going viral. Somehow I don't think Jim Romenesko, still a part time member of the world famous Poynter Institute is going to be scared of Mr Scarfone's two bit lawyer. As for Rocco's Jersey boys-- they only work for pay and Rocco is about to become very poor.

And while it might be possible that some of Scarfone and Rossabi's claims of defamation will be proven in court, most of what I originally wrote is very much true and in threatening me, Scarfone and Rossabi have violated my rights as protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Hey Rocco, have you ever asked to see Rossabi's credentials to determine if he ever really went to law school?

See you in court, Bozo Rocco.

Greensboro: Giving Incentives To Tax Deliquents

On Tuesday the Greensboro City Council will consider giving an "Investment Grant in the amount of $1,975,000 for the Elm Street Center Hotel LLC project " Problem is: according to the Guilford County Tax Department Elm Street Center Llc currently owes $62, 356.53 in delinquent taxes of which $25,892.02 is owed to the City of Greensboro, $3,274.88 in Downtown Improvement District taxes and $31,520.72 to Guilford County.

You'll also note that Kahn Hotels, the same people who swapped the downtown Greensboro Inn for the Bessemer Shopping Center and are partners in dozens of local convenience stores that trade food stamps for wine, beer and tobacco are delinquent to the tune of $50,613.22. Kann Hotels owns the Airport Clarion Hotel on Swing Road as well as the Heritage Inn.

Guilford Hospatility, owner of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, 3111 Cedar Park Road is delinquent $40,071.80

RH Hospitality Corporation, the owners of the Microtel Inn by Wyndham, located at 4304 Big Tree Way are delinquent $37,403.38

And folks, that's from just the first 2 pages of delinquent listings over $10,000. There are plenty more delinquent hotels I didn't list. This should be the end of this discussion. Period.

To give incentives to people who are behind on their taxes is criminal.

Update:  I missed yesterday was again Elm Street Center Llc, this time their property located at 200 S DAVIE ST, their parking deck $16,500.05, a total of 78,856.58.

Where Is The Performing Arts Center Money?

On numerous occasions myself and others have, over the course of the last several months, sent PIRTs (Public Information Requests) to the City Of Greensboro asking to see proof that the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro can actually produce the $35 Million in support that has been pledged to build the Greensboro Performing Arts Center. The following is an answer that came from the City today:

"Dear Mr. Jones:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the monetary pledges made on behalf of the Greensboro Performing Arts Center.

Your request was reviewed by both the Legal Department as well as the Finance and Administrative Services Department.  Both departments responded that they do not have documents relating to your request.  The information you requested is maintained by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.

You may contact the Community Foundation at 336-379-9100 or info@cfgg.org

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.  Thanks again for your request.

Sincerely,

Sarah Healy

Perhaps you'd like to e-mail or call the Community Foundation and ask them yourself before the City of Greensboro gives them $58 Million Dollars. I noticed yesterday that DH Griffin has already started tearing down the Greensboro Inn to make way for the project-- perhaps you'd like to ask the CFGG who will be getting the bill for that while you've got their attention?

What Are Kaplan And Kern Planning For Downtown Greensboro?

One of the companies mentioned in today's News & Record article, Some people, businesses roll the dice on taxes is Greensboro Hotel Holdings who owes 34,553.10 pending litigation for tax foreclosure.

According to the NC Secretary of State their address is 110 SENECA ROAD GREENSBORO NC 27406  a former Denny's Restaurant apparently now vacant and available for rent.with their corporate headquarters being 901 SE 17TH STREET, STE. 206 FORT LAUDERDALE FL 33316 who is in-fact a loan servicer known as HPC LOAN SERVICER, LLC  of the same address.

But the picture showed a Carolina Country Kitchen there so it's back to the NC Secretary of State where I learned that Carolina Country Kitchen, an alias for THE CARIBBEAN 1830 RESTAURANT & CAFETERIA, INC. that was suspended by the NC Secretary of State in 2006...

But then it hit me, this is also the location of the Knight's Inn, "part of Wyndham Hotel Group" which according to the Knight's Inn website is now a Super 8 Motel. In other words, a Wyndham Hotel Group dump that owes back taxes to the City of Greensboro.
Is this what Kaplan and Kern have planned for $8 Million Dollars in incentives from the City of Greensboro? A downtown Wyndham turned Knight's Inn turned Super 8 Motel and someday turned another Greensboro Inn? Luckily, the citizens of Greensboro only paid to buy the Greensboro Inn on 1 occasion-- when the City of Greensboro seized the property to build the Greensboro Performing Arts Center

More Trouble Greensboro's Homestead Lodge

Previously I wrote of how the Homestead Lodge was even worse than the Greensboro Inn and yet while the Greensboro Inn was taken from its owners by the City of Greensboro, the Homestead Lodge was not. This morning, from the Greensboro Police Department:

GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE - AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - jULY 21, 2013

Clodfelter, Jean
6:11 AM (2 hours ago)

to Police, Global, City
At 04:40 A.M. Police were dispatched to 115 East Carteret Street (Homestead Lodge), regarding a shooting victim. Upon arrival, they located Michael A. Chapman (b/m 28 years of age).  Officers learned that he had been at the Comfort Inn located at 1103 Lanada Road and was shot there.  Michael advised that it happened while on the inside of his vehicle.  He was then able to drive to the Homestead Lodge where he was located by police officers.  He was transported by EMS to a local hospital for life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Southern District Officers, CID, and CSI attended the scene.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime stoppers at 373-1000

The Comfort Inn is owned by SAHIL HOSPITALITY INC  2006 VEASLEY ST whose president NAYAN PATEL lives in Jamestown as does Khan A Khan, owner of the Homestead Lodge and the Greensboro Inn. I'm betting all these businesses have family ties.

In Greensboro There's Public Nuisance And Then There's Public Nuisance

I give you a partial listing of crimes responded to at the Homestead Lodge, 115 E Carteret St since Jan 1 2007. That's no less thay 117 instances as I'm still waiting on records from the Giulford County Sheriff's Department and North Carolina Highway Patrol. For reference, this is the motel located at the northeast corner of I40 and South Elm-Eugene St. Link to Google map: http://goo.gl/maps/kTu2x

Don't you find it strange that the City of Greensboro didn't take the Homestead Lodge from its owners as being a public nuisance when just a few months ago the City declared the Greensboro Inn (located downtown) a public nuisance for only 102 crimes committed at the Greensboro Inn?

And let's not forget, the Greensboro Inn was the subject of a deliberate police investigation. Had GPD also been investigating the Homestead Lodge surely they would have uncovered more.

So what do these 2 motels have in common? Besides being very seedy places? According to the Guilford County Registar of Deeds, both properties are owned by the same owners. That's right, the Kahn family, the same people who own seedy convienience stores all over Greensboro and cheap hotels all across the nation. The same people who take their profits out of our communities, out of the United States leaving our communities poor. The same people who were given $2 Million Dollars and a shopping center by the Greensboro City Council just weeks ago.

Now why would the Greensboro City Council move forward on excercising its right to take one property when another property owned by the same ownership group is a bigger offender? The answer: I was right when I wrote the Greensboro Inn was swapped for the Bessemer Shopping Center.

There's been a lot of police investigations going on in Greensboro in recent years, too bad none of it is being directed at City Council, city staff and the "non profit" elites and their developer cronies.

Nikitas Play Room

Allow me to begin by saying I'm not taking up for strip clubs or club owner, Darryl McCarroll. I spent my time in strip clubs many years ago as a much younger man but having turned 57 just today I value my dollar bills more than the cheap thrills and have not set foot inside any topless bar or strip club since before about half my readers were born.

The Greensboro Police Department is seeking to close Nikitas Play Room based on what they deem to be an excessive number of crimes and calls to police at that address since 2007. I find it rather interesting that it took them so long as the previous operator of a club at that same property was a long standing white local thug who along with his wife was convicted for abandoning their own children in a hotel room with 2 complete strangers in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina some years back.

Mr McCarroll points to something that I've heard Greensboro club owners of all types, not just strip club owners, express concern about countless times over the years:

"McCarroll said many of the calls were made by club security about people nearby, who were not necessarily associated with the club.

"When we see something that's inappropriately happening, we call the police," he said. "

Which brings about a few questions:

Are club owners risking being shut down by calling Greensboro Police to quell disturbances? Ever? Even once?

Does GPD have a means to differiate between calls that came from the club and calls that came from elsewhere? Do they use it?

Are all the calls lumped together on the affidavit? Based on having seen these sorts of documents before you can almost bet they have done so.

Who is interested in the property? Remember: It sits alongside Interstates 40 and 85. Perhaps someone should call Clarence Ray Jernigan  and ask if anyone has approached him about buying the property at 510 Farragut St as such a sale might nessitate the closing of a club in order to break the terms of the lease.  Hey, pretty much the same trick was just accomplished at a popular Downtown club. It could happen again.

Then there's this:

"In the last six months calls for police to McCarroll's club have decreased. During that time, he added security measures including screening and a limit on hanging out in the parking lot."

If calls are decreasing then why are police still perusing nuisance abatement? Because someone wants Nikitas Play Room closed no matter how or what they do. Here's a tip for you Mr McCarroll, announce to the media that you plan to convert the building to a mixed-use office and shopping center and they'll trade you a shopping center for it just like the did the owners of the Greensboro Inn.

Eastern Development Growth Enterprise, Inc And Jim Kee

That's one of the corporations run by Gayland Oliver of 4214 LORD JEFF DRIVE in GREENSBORO NC. Another is Triad Centers For Youth, Inc.

Triad Centers For Youth, Inc was incorporated as a for profit business corporation by Gayland Oliver and Lisa Morrison on the 22nd of August 2007. At that point in time the address was listed as 4900 Shady Pine Drive, Greensboro, NC. 27455.

At some point in time, 11 Glendale Oaks Court, Greensboro, NC. 27406 was added to state filings as the principal office mailing address while the Shady Pine address remained the principal office street address. 11 Glendale Oaks Court is a residential dwelling that has been owned by Shannon M Smith since June 6,2000.

Throughout the years there were sporadic efforts made at filing annual reports with the last filing being in May of 2010. In May of 2013, the NC Secretary of State suspended Triad Centers For Youth, Inc.

Other businesses that have come and gone or are otherwise suspect involving Gayland Oliver include:
CENTURY JANITORIAL SERVICES, INC http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=8731937http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=8731937 in Thomasville, NC.

Life Changing Family Care Home, LLC http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/searchresults.aspx?onlyactive=OFF&Words=STARTING&searchstr=Life%20Changing%20Family%20Care%20Home,%20LLChttp://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/searchresults.aspx?onlyactive=OFF&Words=STARTING&searchstr=Life%20Changing%20Family%20Care%20Home,%20LLC is associated with Life Changing Experience Outreach Ministries http://www.lifeceom.org/#!lifechome/c1xu8 where Minister Gayland Oliver and Reverend Stephanie Oliver appear to run the entire show. And apparently it is just a show as  Life Changing Experience Outreach Ministries appears to have no state or Federal records of any kind any where.

THE ATHLETIC SUCCESS PROGRAM, INC. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=4842952

CENTURY MEDICAL SUPPLIES, INC. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=7991024 a for profit which is most likely in violation of City of Greensboro zoning ordinances as the address listed is 4214 LORD JEFF DRIVE GREENSBORO NC 27405 and appears to be in violation of City of Greensboro tax codes as zero results returned for Gayland Oliver, Gayland A Oliver or Gayland Anthony Oliver at the City of Greensboro Business Privilege License Lookup. http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/index.aspx?page=2402

EASTERN DEVELOPMENT GROWTH ENTERPRISE, INC. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=9637380  was a for profit which has since been converted to the non profit EASTERN DEVELOPMENT GROWTH ENTERPRISE, INC. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=9552284 and appears to have disappeared or is about to disappear with $41,000 in funding slated for community gardens on Phillips Avenue and Lombardy Street.

And low and behold, KEYSTONE YOUTH SERVICES, INC. http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/Corp.aspx?PitemId=9036713 4411 BELFIELD DRIVE GREENSBORO NC 27405, which according to the Guilford County Registar of Deeds is owned by none other than James W Kee Jr and his wife, Talma T Kee of 4301 LORD JEFF DRIVE. http://taxweb.co.guilford.nc.us/CamaPublicAccess/PropertySummary.aspx?REID=0079252&pageIndex=0 And just in case you don't know, James W Kee Jr is known around Greensboro as District 2 City Councilman, Jim Kee. As a matter of fact: according to the NC Secretary of State website, Jim Kee and Gayland Oliver are business partners in the venture.

And when City Councilmen have business relationships with people who are recipients of public funding or in this case, city owned property, that's just a little too cozy for open and honest government. Especially when the councilman's partner has a history of assault on a female, insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2013/06/but-wait-it-gets-better.html and whose mother operates an unregistered non profit. http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2013/06/hope-valley-outreach-neighborhood.html

And I haven't even gotten around to searching for why Gayland Anthony Oliver https://npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov/NPPESRegistry/DisplayProviderDetails.do?searchNpi=1457534711&city=&firstName=&orgName=&searchType=ind&state=&npi=1457534711&orgDba=&lastName=&zip  left the good life behind in Arkansas. Anyone know where he got his health care degree from? Who wants to bet it's not a real accredited university?

So tell me Jim, my search began with 2 developers who were given the Bessemer Shopping Center and $2 Million Dollars in taxpayer funding, lead us to discover that the Greensboro Inn was secretly traded for the Bessemer Shopping Center, alerted me that the sale by the Redevelopment Commission to build the Dollar General on Phillips Avenue was in violation of the covenant signed with Family Dollar and now leads me through a long list of names straight back to James W Kee Jr... What am I going to find when I start running your name through all those many search engines?

Like I noted on Friday, Councilman Kee, it's time you tendered your resignation from the Greensboro City Council. After all, like my daddy taught me when he was raising me right here in Northeast Greensboro not even 1/2 mile from Jim Kee's house, you are known by the company you keep. And you, Councilman Kee, are in the company of charlatans.

What evil lurks in the heart of men? The Autopost knows.

Did The illegal Greensboro Inn, Bessemer Shopping Center Swap Kill The Phillips Avenue Community Garden?

Last winter the City of Greensboro and NC A&T University began circulating e-mails asking for suitable locations for a community garden on City Owned property on Phillips Avenue. I e-mailed Greensboro City Manager, Denise Turner Roth using my e-mail address recyclebill@gmail.com and suggested the unused and unpaved portion of the Bessemer Shopping Center. I even told her where I could get chain link fencing and many supplies for free.

I never got a reply from the City Manager. Rude bitch! If I offered to get you a free chain link fence wouldn't you at least say thank you? If memory serves me right I might have also suggested low cost water storage tanks like the ones I use in my garden.

Shortly thereafter, a professor from NC A&T University came to speak at one the early Renaissance Community Co-op meetings to tell us of his plans to bring community gardens to Phillips Avenue.

It's June now and I'm harvesting sweet red tomatoes from my own garden but when I ride my own 150 mile per gallon prototype Wackemall moped up and down Phillips Avenue from one end to the other I can find nothing that looks like a community garden.

Last Thursday, June 13th, I sent what I thought was a simple public information request to the City asking for the location of the Phillips Avenue community garden. Honestly, at that point, as one who grows vegetables and herbs in surplus US Army rocket launchers in my front yard, has backyard chickens and has devoted half my backyard to a vegetable garden since before I was old enough to pull the starter cord on the garden tiller, I honestly wanted to see a community garden, perhaps even help.

But a week later and still no reply from the City of Greensboro-- why?

Then a few minutes ago after making a joke with someone over at NC A&T about my making the City Staff paranoid it hit me: What if the only available site for a community garden on all of Phillips Avenue was in fact the very site I had suggested?

I started doing some online searches and came up with 4 NC A&T community garden projects. Problem is: None of them are in Greensboro.  As a matter of fact, the closest to Greensboro is an hour away in Durham. And the closest community garden in the state directory is Kernersville.

So did the illegal Greensboro Inn, Bessemer Shopping Center swap kill the Phillips Avenue Community Garden? I don't know but one would have thought the City would have replied by now if there really is a Phillips Avenue Community Garden? And if there isn't a Phillips Avenue Community Garden then we've just one more example of how Downtown and filling the pockets of Greensboro's elites take president in the minds of Greensboro's "leaders" over the needs of Greensboro's poor and working class. The very food from our children's mouths! Is there nothing they won't steal from us? Nothing?

Update: It just doesn't add up. I got a reply today (below) after posting above but if the City already had all of those properties then why did they send out e-mails last winter asking the community where available properties might be located?

Here's a little info on Mr Gayland A Oliver you might find interesting.

Update 2

According to this 2012 page on Minister Gayland Oliver he "co-opened Triad Centers for Youth, Inc in 2009 and continues to manage the daily operations of the home" but according to the NC Secretary of State, the Triad Centers for Youth, Inc operated by "Minister Gayland Oliver" was suspended by the State of North Carolina in 2007, five years before the "minister's" web page was last copyrighted.

I'm wondering what was known about Mr Oliver before the City of Greensboro gave him $41,000 Dollars and how it was that he happened to leave the "non profit" school he co-founded in Little Rock, Arkansas? And I'm wondering if the good minister is still running the Triad Centers For Youth, Inc out of his home? Must be tough with all those kids in the house.

Looks Like I Was Right About The Greensboro Inn Swap For The Bessemer Shopping Center

It costs a lot of money to hire professionals to do the kinds of art work demanded by folks like Mayor Robbie Perkins, Walker Sanders and the Community Foundation Of Greater Greensboro. That's why I believe the links you're about to view is probably the real deal. To the top of the picture is labeled New Construction Mixed Use. That's where the Greensboro Inn stands today.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/1oh7_dYing22gWAyRFL-DsOvNO5YOrslcDaznJ3WcAPZ1d-WVDtxdPk3P-AS-/edit?usp=sharing

Now read my original post, Tit For Tat: The Greensboro Inn Comes Back  and tell me if you believe I am wrong in saying that Northeast Greensboro, the Renaissance Community Coop and the City of Greensboro as a whole has not been sold out in backroom dealings to benefit developers and key supporters of the Greensboro Performing Arts Center?

Nancy Baracat Vaughn: this is your water, drink!

Allen Johnson: Lies Of Omission

From Allen Johnson, East Greensboro is Ohio in 2013 on economic development in East Greensboro and the idea that my neighborhood should think bigger than  a strip shopping center and a grocery on Phillips Avenue.

"Such an idea has been broached but needs to be seriously pursued. The city is good for coming up with plans."

If our leaders were really interested in economic development, if they really cared: http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/search/label/If%20They%20Cared
50 ideas for real economic development that don't involve bulldozers and carry less risk.

To date: the ONLY plan presented by the city ( http://www.slideshare.net/EmsDC/strategic-plan-for-east-greensboro ) has been "strip shopping centers" (plural) and grocery stores. Apparently the city isn't as good at coming up with plans as Allen Johnson would like to make them out to be.

As a matter of fact: the plan proposed by the city and Mayor Robbie Perkins is a very bad plan for East Greensboro because it will bring ONLY minimum wage jobs and take the profits out of East Greensboro and out of the City of Greensboro as a whole.

You can bet it will make Robme Perkins and his developer buddies a mint. But let's not let the truth get in the way, shall we, Allen? After all, these are the same guys who traded the Greensboro Inn for the Bessemer Shopping Center and sold out East Greensboro as part of the deal: http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2013/06/tit-for-tat-greensboro-inn-comes-back.html
with imaginary appraisals http://greensboroperformingarts.blogspot.com/2013/06/imaginary-bessemer-shopping-center.html of which you, Allen Johnson, are fully aware of because you, like myself, are included in George Hartzman's e-mail threads along with dozens of others including journalists, bloggers, city officials, city legal staff and the entirety of City Council.

Your lies of omission are being heard, Allen. Loud and clear.

And of course Allen leaves out the long term goals of the Renaissance Community Coop http://renaissancecoop.com/ that include expanding the model to include not only all of East Greensboro but the City as a whole. It's easy to see where the News & Record stands. But let's not let the truth get in the way of our pay checks, shall we Allen Johnson, childhood resident of the Phillips Avenue community who has now turned his back on his own people-- the people he left behind so he could rub shoulders with Greensboro's elite.

So We Punish Bad Behavior By Giving Them $2 Million Dollars

Let's say I was wrong about trading the Greensboro Inn for the Bessemer Shopping Center. Let's say it was just a coincidence that Mr Kahn happened to get his Hotel shut down by the City of Greensboro a few months ago due to the fact that the Greensboro Police Department and courts had established a history of excessive problems there. (Link to court documents)

Okay, so what if I was wrong? What if I was wrong and the Greensboro City Council lead by Mayor Robbie Perkins punished the Kahn investment group by giving them $2 Million Dollars?

"Alston’s clients, Shahzad Akbar and Shehzad Quamar, are part of an investment group that owns a Clarion Hotel on Swing Road and 25 local convenience stores. Mayor Robbie Perkins said the pair has extensive experience running businesses in east Greensboro.

“They know what they’re getting into,” he said. “That’s a business advantage we can’t discount.”

If that's punishment I'm taking up a life of crime.

And did I mention the near monopoly they already operate in Northeast Greensboro? These people are literally taking $Millions of dollars a year out of our community.

As an aside: These are the same clowns who tried to block the building of the new Dollar General Store on Phillips Avenue a few months back claiming it would bring more crime to the area when in-fact their store next door, Kim's, is considered the worst nuisance in the entire community for miles around. Yeah, they know how to do business in East Greensboro alright. It's called Monopoly and Robbie Perkins supports it.
