I've long believed the Jaycees to be a training ground for corrupt local politicans and an incubator for the pervasive good old boy network that has long choked Greensboro economicly but in this comment by former Jaycee member, Karl Brustmeyer we learn:
"There is a rumor that Mr. Donnell J. Hardy found evidence where the 2012 Jaycees President had secretly transferred $70,000 dollars of Jaycees monies to the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation and its affiliates (Wyndam Golf Tournament, etc.). There is also a rumor he uncovered a plot to subvert the autonomy of the Jaycees that was led by 2012 Jaycees President. At the January meeting it was circulated that the amount in question was $2100 but yet they paid an outside Attorney over $12,000. That’s when I knew there was something more to this and when I inquired about the matter I was kicked out the organization. I am not certain of the validity of these rumors but maybe the Greensboro News and Record could do some investigative work and find out for themselves."
The News & Record doing investigative journalism? Sorry Mr Brustmeyer, that ended when my friend, Lex Alexander busted Greensboro's Red Light Camera scam years ago with a tiny bit of help from yours truly.
And finally, have you ever seen a photograph of a con man who wasn't clean cut, handsome and well dressed? And if you ever met a con man, wasn't he just the nicest guy you could ever want to know?
Working from the fringes of Greensboro politics and development to build a brighter future for Greensboro into the 21st Century and beyond.

Another Downtown Non Profit In The Ditch
Months ago I got an anonymous tip telling me of corruption in the Greensboro Jaycees but the information I got was even too sketchy for Billy Jones to publish and not knowing any current Jaycee members I let it go. Well, I guess that's one group that won't hate me for exposing their beloved leader for his criminal activities.
Just remember this when Donnell “DJ” Hardy again decides to run for political office in the footsteps of former Greensboro Jaycees like Jim "Bobblehead" Melvin and many of Greensboro's other "great" leaders: This is where they trained them.
So now I guess the Greensboro Jaycees will hate me anyway.
Question, should anyone know: what's the Greensboro Jaycees' involvement in or with the Greensboro Partnership or any of the Partnership companies and are the Greensboro Jaycees funded by the City of Greensboro?
It's a fact of life, pile up some money and sooner or later a thief will try and take it.
