On the whole Aycock contributed much more

to the betterment of our state.

He used this phrase in his 1903 speech to the North Carolina Society, called “The Negro Problem,” which began with the claim that, under his tenure, the state had “solved the negro problem.”

Aycock was, among other things, an active and admitted oppressor of every single black person living in his state during his tenure

“I am inclined to give to you our solution of this problem,” he said to the room. “It is, first, as far as possible under the Fifteenth Amendment to disfranchise him.”

Billy Graham held segregated crusades in his early years. 

We forgive him for that.

Aycock was, among other things, an active and admitted oppressor of every single black person living in his state during his tenure — 1901-05, which means, yes, he was a sitting governor when he made these remarks. They came just five years after the Wilmington Race Riot, in which armed white insurgents — from Aycock’s political party — overthrew the city’s duly elected government just a single generation removed from the Civil War.

We came through the civil rights movement 

in a much more peaceful way than most other southern states.

There were plenty of other people that abhorred the system, 

but had to complacently go along because it was so ingrained.

I'm not forgetting or forgiving anything. 

I'm balancing his contributions with his negatives. 

As others have said, 

I think it's instructive to keep a name like that out in public

and acknowledge the good and the bad of the man.

Racial relations in NC took a precipitous decline with the advent of Jim Crow and the abrupt termination of the fusionist experiment in multiracial democracy in 1898. Aycock and his cohort were directly responsible for just about all of it.

We must disfranchise the negro.

The Holiday Affidavit

I snagged the affidavit below from Under Siege and posted them here for posterity's sake as I'd been looking for them for weeks. If nothing else they prove that former Greensboro Mayor Keith Holiday believes that Eric Robert, owner of The Mill on South Elm Street, has right to part of the Federal Dollars the City of Greensboro received for remediation and rehabilitation of the South Elm Street redevelopment area.

As Fec mentions in his post these documents have been previously deleted by the administrators of other websites where they have been posted of which David Craft, of Craft Insurance Company is one of them. Could it possibly be that the Craft Brothers are investors in the Union Square project which stands to lose any monies the City must pay to Mr Robert or is David Craft simply another elitist crony of Mayor Nancy Barakat "Grasshopper" Vaughan?

I guess that's a question the courts should ask as well.

David B Craft Is Screwed

I tried to warn people what the downtown performing arts center would bring. One of those people was David B Craft of Craft Insurance, a 3rd generation rich kid from Fisher Park who has never worked a day in his life, spends his days drinking, playing golf and commenting on blogs and social networking sites while complaining to the guys he hangs out with that he can't hire people who are willing to work.

David and his brother Daniel own several downtown properties and stood to make some money from the building of what is now being called the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. David quickly got in bed with the devil to see that the performing arts center was built.

But David's passion has always been the history of Greensboro and if David has ever really worked at anything it was in-fact the saving and restoration of Greensboro's historic structures. Some of what David did is silly and a waste of money like those brown street signs downtown that best serve to confuse folks from out of town but David was behind several historic preservation projects that were well deserved and right for Greensboro.

David had to be quiet when Roy Carroll tore down the historic Dixie Apartments. It had to hurt. I'm sure the knot in David's throat made it hard for him to breath. He probably threw down a few extra drinks with his buddy Jeff Martin in an effort to try and forget Dixie but she haunts him still.

Finally David had to speak up and wrote Keep old gas station as link to the past in today's News & Record:

"Situated in all this is a modest old slate-roof gas station once part of various restaurants such as McAdoo’s and Boston’s House of Jazz. I can see wagons, Model Ts, Studebakers, Dodges, Chevrolets and Mack transfer trucks rumbling into town. How appropriate to have this small reminder of what made the Gate City — transportation — situated between the park and PAC.

While this has been discussed at the highest levels, at my urging, the answer seems to be no, we don’t want this building any longer."

You made a deal with the Devil, David. Nobody makes deals with the devil and wins. Even if your precious gas station is saved it will be my blog post that is given credit for saving it.

Either way, David B Craft is screwed.

Take pride in your new found wealth, David-- you earned it at the expense of your family's reputation and the reputation of Preservation Greensboro.

An Open Letter To David Craft Of Greensboro's Craft Insurance Center

It has come to my attention that David Craft of Craft Insurance Center in Greensboro is saying that all those charges listed in the documents found at my post Jeff Martin's Criminal Record are not for the correct Jeff Martin. In the Facebook group, Greater Greensboro Politics, Jeff Martin's enabler David Craft wrote:

"Or don't. Mr. Jones ran a report on "Jeff Martin" in NC and not specifically Jeffrey R. Martin of Greensboro. We need to give this a rest."

Tell that bozo David Craft that I posted Jeff Martin's current and past addresses along with the 2 dates of birth being used by Jeff Martin and that if David Craft is too stupid to figure it out for himself then he is a complete and utter moron and even far more stupid than even I ever believed him to be. As a matter of fact: I began my post by stating:

"Granted, not every Jeff Martin on this list is the infamous Jeffery Ray Martin, Aka Fecund Stench, age 52, date of birth May 3, 1960, current address, 5119 Cheviot Rd, Greensboro, previous addresses, 3107 Twin Brooks Dr. Greensboro, 2405 #5 Battleground Ave and 135 Po Box 654, Liberty, NC, 135 West Lewis St. Liberty and 405 East Frazier Ave but as you can well see, Jeffery Ray Martin, while long claiming to be a non violent individual, has a long history of violence."

Even now, despite overwhelming evidence, Greensboro's elitist cliques attempt to save face for their long running support of this psychopath. The second paragraph of my post read:

"This next report indicates that our Jeff Martin's criminal record may be even more extensive than first thought for while the previous record lists Jeff Martin's address as 5119 Cheviot Rd, Greensboro and his date of birth as  May 3, 1960, when I googled the telephone number listed under personal information for a Jeffery Ray Martin born September 6, 1960, the address also came up as  5119 Cheviot Rd.,   http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Martin.J.R.336-547-0797  Jeff Martin's current home."

Everything a reader of average intelligence needed to separate our Jeff Martin from other Jeff Martin's was included in the text I posted but David Craft, aka Collards, decided it better  to decimate lies in order to cover for his own part in the creation of the monster Fecund Stench.

Now David Craft's days and nights of masturbating to virtual voyeuristic orgies are over and David Craft, like so many others who will be named soon, are now cast in the midst of the public affray, the subjects of public opinion, public dismay. Have no doubt that while the monster Fecund Stench remains in hiding he waits for those who put him where he is today and took advantage of his desire to be something he could never be no matter how successful he might become.

David Craft worked to craft Jeff Martin into the monster he became over beers in downtown Greensboro establishments such as Natty Greene's as Mr Craft led Mr Martin on, feeding him alcohol and tips to embarrass politicians that stood in the way of the plans of David and his brother Daniel, John Lomax and others. Then a drunken Mr Martin would go home and blog what Mr Craft had told him while David Craft commented using the moniker, Collards, to hide his true identity. Like Ed Cone and others, David Craft created the monster Fecund Stench because they recognized Jeff Martin's burning desire to become something he could never be and played it to the hilt.

Remember when David Craft forced George Hartzman to cease campaigning for Mayor of Greensboro at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market but allowed every other candidate for every office imaginable to campaign there on multiple occasions? Like the rest of Greensboro's elites, David Craft knows no bounds and will stop at nothing to have his way even if it means breaking State and Federal elections laws. And the city attorney who ruled in Mr Craft's favor? He's since been fired. Turns out his legal opinions were getting the City of Greensboro into some expensive holes. One decision alone cost $750,000.

And today, David Craft wishes for you to ignore Jeff Martin's criminal record when everything you need to know to separate our Jeff Martin from other Jeff Martins is in the text of the post. There can only be one reason David Craft wants you to ignore it-- David Craft doesn't want you to know he and Jeff Martin hung out together and that David Craft played a part in the actions of Jeff Martin.

And bet that Fec is ROTFLHAO as he reads these words knowing I'm the one man they cannot corrupt and cannot take down-- the Greensboro Tyrannicide.

 Update:  How quickly the guilty go into hiding. Just 17 minutes after I posted a link to this post to Real Progress for Greensboro, David B Craft blocked me on Facebook. Moron just made himself look even more guilty. But then, that's what they always do.

I don't know but I'm guessing David is the younger of the Craft brothers. You know, the stupid one who made his older brother's life miserable and was constantly being bailed out of jams by their father. Perhaps he still is.

The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market: Is It Or Isn't It?

So perhaps  Greensboro City Attorney, S. Mujeeb Shah-Khan would like to explain to us if the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market is in fact a part of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department? I've included some photographs taken just hours ago to refresh his memory. By clicking on them you can view them full size.

And perhaps David Craft of Craft Insurance Company would like to explain why he is soliciting business in a Greensboro City Park when soliciting is clearly prohibited by the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department and the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market. Even after Mr Craft, aka Collards, published the following statement just yesterday:

"He showed me his hotel proposal flyer and the copy of our solicitation policy he was given. I concurred that our policy does not allow solicitation in the market except in the designated location at the Yanceyville entrance. This policy is consistent with City policy.

The market is a busy place with many vendors trying to make a living. Several vendors were not happy with his intrusion into their selling time.

We have made the same request of others with petitions and political candidates in the past and will continue to do in the future.

We will continue to serve the public according to our stated mission.
